William W. Whitley, SRA, is a commercial property appraiser with the Real Estate Assessor’s Office of the City of Newport News, Virginia.  This government office has more designated members of the Appraisal Institute than any other municipality in the Hampton Roads region.  Newport News has always been a strong supporter of Appraisal Institute membership.  Past Presidents of our Chapter, and Chief Assessors for the City of Newport News, include Chuck Young, SRA, Joe  Street, SRA, and Larry Trent, MAI, SRA.
